Services and what they cost

Every job starts with a free inspection and a photo report. The prices below are typical ranges for Capital Region houses; your written quote is fixed before work starts.

Storm damage repair

A repair visit covers everything the storm touched, not just the spot that is leaking. We bring matching shingles for the common brands, so a repaired area does not look like a patch from the street.

RepairTypical price
Missing or lifted shingles, up to 2 squares$450–$900
Pipe boot replacement, each$180
Chimney flashing reflashed and sealed$650–$1,400
Valley rebuilt with new metal and shingles$900–$1,800
Ridge vent replaced, per 20 feet$520

Repairs carry a 5-year labor warranty. If we find during the repair that the roof is past saving, we stop and show you before doing more.

Insurance claim roofs

Wind and hail damage is usually covered by a homeowner's policy. The process is simple when the documentation is good, and ours is the same report adjusters use.

  • Photo report with a marked test square and a damage count, delivered the same day
  • We attend the adjuster's inspection and walk the roof with them
  • We build to the approved scope and bill the insurer directly for everything past your deductible
  • Supplements for items the adjuster missed, such as code-required ice and water shield, are filed by us

What we will not do: waive or "eat" your deductible. In New York that is insurance fraud for both of us, and companies that offer it are the ones that disappear when the warranty call comes.

Full replacement

A replacement is a tear-off to the deck, deck repairs where needed, and a new system, not just new shingles on top of the old ones.

HouseTypical price
Ranch, about 1,600 sq ft of roof$11,500–$14,000
Colonial, about 2,400 sq ft of roof$16,000–$21,000
Larger or steep roofs, multiple valleys and dormersQuoted after inspection

Included on every replacement: architectural shingles rated for 130 mph wind, synthetic underlayment, ice and water shield at eaves, valleys and penetrations, new pipe boots and flashing, ridge vent, and a magnet sweep of the yard. 50-year manufacturer warranty and 10 years on our labor, in writing.

Gutters and drip edge

Seamless 6-inch aluminum gutters at $14–$18 per foot installed, with 3x4 downspouts sized for snowmelt. Guards add $9 per foot and come with a no-clog guarantee: if they clog, we clean them.

Emergency tarping

$350 for most roofs, credited back to the repair or replacement if you hire us for the permanent fix. Tarps are screwed through furring strips, not nailed loose, so they hold through the next storm too.
